sand dunes, Lapaz Laoag
conversation with the tricycle driver:
mariz: kuya, dalhin mo kami sa sand dunes ha?
tricycle driver: sand dunes?
mariz: oo, yung desert? malapit lang daw sa Fort Ilocandia yun e.
tricycle driver: ah, sand dunes! yung parang disyerto?
mariz: opo yun nga po yun!
tricycle driver: ok, walang problema.
napansin ko si kuya na nagtatanong-tanong habang kumukuha kami ng mga larawan sa SUBA BEACH.
tricycle driver: dalawa daw ang sand dunes dito. isa malapit dito sa beach, isa naman sa LAPAZ. saan nyo gusto?
mariz: hmmm... kung saan po mas malapit para mas mabilis tayo.
tricycle driver: ok!
after 20 minutes na paikot-ikot at nakarating na rin kami sa may PAOAY LAKE...
tricycle driver: teka, sandali. naligaw na yata tayo. magtatanong lang ako.
pagbalik...
tricycle driver: dun na lang tayo sa LAPAZ, hindi ko kasi alam kung saan yun dito e . ano na kasi yung lugar na pupuntahan natin?
mariz: sand dunes po! yung desert! yung pinagshutingan ni FERNANDO POE JR. ng PANDAY!
tricycle driver: AH YUNG PANDAY! OO ALAM KO YUN!!!
kung di ko pa sasabihing PANDAY, hindi niya pa malalaman. hay...

take a bus going to laoag and once you're there, hire a tricyle and ask him to bring you to LAPAZ SAND DUNES where they shot the PANDAY movie. it will cost you atleast 100pesos but you can also ask the tricycle driver to tour you around Laoag like FORT ILOCANDIA, PAOAY CHURCH, etc. for 400 pesos/half day.
